BT Openreach will move all their old analogue land lines to a new fully digital network – This has already started. BT plan to have moved all land lines over to the new digital network before Open Reach stop the analogue landline and ISDN service in 2025. By then every phone line in the UK will be digital, routing calls over IP (Internet Protocol) rather than the traditional landline network.
Does This Mean Everything?
It’s not just your phone services you need to think about it’s everything that currently uses the old analogue phone network, i.e. your non-voice services, ISDN lines, alarms, EPOS machines, door entry systems, CCTV, faxes and of course Broadband.

What is SoGEA? SoGEA stands for Single order Generic Ethernet Access. But don’t worry about the lingo!
